This week, we have been doing writing around the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. So far we have read to chapter 4, and have learnt that the story is told from the point of view of a horse- Joey. We later meet the character Albert, who Joey forms a strong bond with. We have written a chapter summary of the first chapter, paying close attention to the effects on the reader. We have looked at language which is used within the story, and have began writing our own prequels to the novel.
In Maths, we have been focusing on calculating areas of rectangles, triangles and parallelograms. We then progressed to calculating the voume of 3D shapes, including cubes and cuboids. A focus group, working with Miss Ringwood, challenged ourselves further by applying our understanding to calculating the area of triangular prisms.
This week we have also typed and submitted our 500 word stories. These we have put a stunning amount of effort into.
