Some useful things to remember:
Peacocks are swimming on a Tuesday and Wednesday children will have PE taught by Mr Green.
PE kit can be worn all day.
Music will take part on a Wednesday, taught by Pete (our music teacher).

Peacocks had lots of fun yesterday morning making fruit fraction kebabs. They had to cut the fruit into different parts and work out what fractions of fruit were left as well as working out equivalent fractions, sorting them into unit and non-unit fractions. They said they were very yummy!
Peacocks have been learning about different rock types in science. Yesterday we made igneous rock by melting chocolate, sedimentary rock by compressing layers of sediment (grated chocolate) and then applied heat and pressure to create metamorphic rock. This process replicated the rock cycle. We had lots of fun and enjoyed a delicious chocolate rock at the end
How wonderful are our puppets!! We have been learning how to write a play script, stitch, act and make a video! We were inspired by the film The Snowman to write our own play.
Peacocks and Bumblebees had a lovely time at the woods on Friday. They enjoyed making Guy Fawkes, whittling sticks and toasting marshmallows on the fire :)
Some wonderful science experiments going on in Peacocks class this week. We used our pumpkins to see how light would travel through the pumpkin. We identified the light source, made predictions about the pumpkin and used a mirror to reflect the light to a different place.
As part of Black History Month Peacocks have been learning all about the Windrush. We have been writing a diary entry for a Windrush child, making Caribbean Island flags in the woods and thinking about emotions of passengers onboard the Empire Windrush.

We have been continuing our learning about deserts and how animals such a camels and plants such as a cactus can adapt to survive.
Peacocks have done a wonderful job at writing some instructions for packing a bag for an adventure.
Peacocks have been using their knowledge of deserts which we have been learning about in science and Freya Stark an explorer who we have explored in topic to paint some pictures inspired by the artist Van Gogh. How incredible do they look! :)
Computing
This Autumn term, Peacocks have been learning how to code movement using Scratch. Here are examples one of our projects.

Autumn Term 2
Peacocks have been learning about CAD (computer aided design). We explored different types of 3D shapes and how these shapes could be change, combined and manipulated. Using Tinkercad we created 3D designs for a Christmas bauble and printed the designs using a 3D printer. The children we so excited to see what they had designed on the screen bought to life as a 3D object.
