Lions and Toucans
Lions and Toucans are our two infant classes, comprised of our Reception and Year 1 children.
Each class has a mixture of both age groups, who work together across two classrooms and the inspiring outdoor area, taught by Mrs Oliver, Mrs Marrison and Miss Varney, as well as Mrs Warnes and Mrs Perry.
Toucans are registered by Mrs Marrison, who also has overall responsibility for Reception children.
Lions and Toucans have become explorers, learning all about Antarctica!
Lions and Toucans enjoyed learning about the changes that happen during the Autumn time. They looked closely at the Autumn colours of leaves and created lovely Autumn tree pictures. These have been added to our seasons display in the classroom.
We have been learning about the human body and labelling the different parts. Amalie enjoyed putting the puzzle together and then writing the names of the parts in the right place.
We have enjoyed reading the story 'Handa's surprise'. We have made fruit snacks, animals masks and retold the story using our small world tray.
Look at these amazing firework pictures the children created at the woods!
This week the children have been learning about money. These children created this fruit and vegetable shop. They put prices on the items and made posters to hang up and advertise what was on sale. They then used the money and took it in turns to be the customer and the shop keeper.
These girls worked as a team to create a number line today. Super maths!
Toucans classroom has a new writing area. The children got busy straight away, writing letters and posting them to their friends.
