Settling into EYFS

We believe in building relationships with the children that are joining Brooke as quickly as possible. Therefore, we provide families with many opportunities to meet the staff and spend time in the environment at Brooke as quickly as possible.

Our playgroup - Little Ducklings - happens on a Friday morning and all children that will be starting at Brooke in September are welcome to join! This gives the children an opportunity to visit the school more and to meet some of the team that they will be with once they start school.

In June and July, we begin our stay and play sessions. This again gives the children an opportunity to meet teachers and spend time in the classroom before they start. We are also believe that it is important for the parents to get to know one another and we provide opportunities for this through parent cafes and coffee mornings.

We will also arrange to come and visit children at home in an environment where they are most comfortable so we can talk about all of the things they love to do and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you have!

In July, we hold our official transition day where all of the children are invited into school for the morning to spend a morning in class, getting to know their teachers and friends. Additionally, we hold a parent meeting to give important information about Brooke and give you an opportunity to meet everyone and ask questions.

In September, you are given the option for your child to do half days for the first 2 weeks or join us full time straight away!
